New Hampshire Reports Astounding Number of Data Breaches

New Hampshire’s Concord Monitor reports that:

Concord Hospital and “more than 40 other companies – including Elliot Hospital in Manchester – have reported potential leaks in computerized information to the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection & Antitrust Bureau since a state law requiring notification went into effect in January.”

While 40 seems like a lot, I have a feeling that larger states must have many times more.

The State PIRG (public interest research groups) website lists credit freeze options for each state, which is good to know if you want to proactively freeze your credit.
